Default PriusLock - the Prius Auto Door Lock module

The PriusChat Shop is proud to announce the availability of the PriusLock, an auto door locking module for the 2004-2009 Prius.

PriusChat Shop : Toyota Prius Auto Door Lock [PriusLock] - $55.00

Have you ever wished that your Prius came with automatic central locking doors? Introducing the PriusLock. This accessory will automatically lock all your doors upon entering and powering up the Prius.

Plugs into existing channels on the wiring harness on driver side floor panel. Includes full-color installation instructions, takes less than 20 minutes time and requires NO cutting or splicing cables. This is a great safety feature for those who are used to a vehicle with automatic central locking doors.

Available for Generation 2 Prius 2004-2009.

If you would like to purchase the PriusLock via credit card, PayPal Express, or Google Checkout, the product is also available on HybridUtopia here:

Toyota Prius Auto Door Lock [PriusLock] : HybridUtopia, Your Hybrid Car Accessory Shop

I for one look forward to getting mine and trying it out. Nichole hates that the Prius doesn't have this feature!

Questions:

1. Is the MFD affected in any way?

2. When does the door lock kick in? ex. 15 mph, when the ignition goes on, etc.

3. If someone gets in/out, do the doors lock again, or does the car have to be stopped and then restarted for the locks to re-lock?

4. Is the doorlock function changed in any way? For instance, can the user options to unlock both doors/drivers only door etc. still be manually changed.

Thanks. This looks like a product I would want.

No, the auto-lock is separate from the display and is unaffected.

2. When does the door lock kick in?
The doors automatically lock when you power the car up by pressing the brake pedal and pushing the power button.

3. If someone gets in/out, do the doors lock again, or does the car have to be stopped and then restarted for the locks to re-lock?
The doors do not re-lock if someone gets out. You would have to just push the lock button to re-lock.

4. Is the doorlock function changed in any way? For instance, can the user options to unlock both doors/drivers only door etc. still be manually changed.
Doorlock function is not changed at all. User can still decide how they would like the car to unlock.
The Priuslock is primarily for safety when initially getting in the car. My wife had a 4Runner with this feature and when she switched to the Prius she would realize halfway to work that she hadn't locked her doors. This fixes that safety issue.

Hi, on the Prius, the front doors will unlock when you pull on the lever to open the door from the inside so I felt that there wasn't a need to have it unlock automatically upon powering the car down. My main concern was for initial safety when entering the car by having the doors lock when it is powered up.

For most people, the auto-lock feature will be useful. It will not fit my need.

Let me explained why. For some situation, I need to power up my car to listen to music while waiting in the parking lot. I do not see the need to auto-lock the car when I powered up. In additional, I see some hazard for kids when they mistakenly powered up the car and lock themself in the car.

I do see the need to auto-lock the car when I shift to D or R. Preferable D.

Regarding the kids... since that is an important question... The doors do NOT lock unless you power the car up with your foot on the brake. So unless they are sitting in the drivers seat, have long legs.......... It shouldn't be a problem regarding that issue....

It was designed for the safety aspect of someone getting in their car and having the doors lock as soon as they power it up. Having it lock when the car reached a certain speed defeats that purpose.
