My 2012 Prius was running fine till yesterday. Suddenly, I have noticed a bunch of warning symbols on the dash board..it included ABS, Traction control and Battery. I have moved the car about few feet on my driveway and now apart from those symbols, dashboard also showing "Check Hybrid System" message. For a short time it also showed "P Lock Malfunction" alarm but not any more. Also just once it showed "Low Oil pressure" alarm. I have scanned the code with OBD2 reader: No codes. Checked the health of 12v Battery: Healthy. My dealership is 15 miles. Please suggest what to do.

I have a similar issue that just popped up with my 2012 Prius (minus the Check hybrid system message). Read the flash codes, tried resetting with the ‘pump brake 8x in 5 sec’, but the codes came back fast. Not sure how to determine what the codes mean, but I believe some of them are redundant (according to the link @ChapmanF posted (thx).

Traction control light on, blinks 4,3
    ABS light on, blinks 3,4
    ((!)) light on, blinks 3,6

Thanks in advance for any help. I just joined, but have benefitted immensely from ‘lurking’ on sites like this throughout the years. Much love.

As you saw at that link, traction 43 and ((!)) 36 both mean "look at the ABS code".

ABS 34 corresponds to DTC C0215, a problem with the signal from the speed sensor at the left rear wheel.

You can find 13 pages of troubleshooting advice for that code in the repair manual:

Thank you for helping narrow it down further and pointing me in the right direction.

    Blink Codes are:

    ABS 42
    Traction Control 45
    ECU (!) 69 59 94

So seems ABS and Traction pointing towards ECU. Now what does these ECU codes mean together?

You mean ECB: electronically controlled braking.

ECB 59 is U0293, a communication error. It means the brake/skid ECU has not reliably received data from the power management control ECU. I haven't seen that one very often. You might double-check those blinks. If that is the code, there are six pages of troubleshooting advice for it in the repair manual.

ECB 69 is C1391, a fairly common code when an aging brake system doesn't build or maintain brake pressure as it should. The code is set if the accumulator pressure doesn't increase as expected when the pump is running, or if it decreases more quickly than expected between uses of the brake when the pump is not running.

ECB 94 is another less familiar one, also a communication error, U0073. The brake/skid ECU isn't communicating with the yaw rate and acceleration sensor. The six troubleshooting pages for that in the manual are the same ones that cover U0293.

Thanks ChapmanF. This was really helpful. One observation I have is Brake Fluid level seems to be pretty low(around 25%).

I double checked the video(infact checked 5 times) and yes codes are 59, 69 and 94 for ECB.

I thought there was going to be a dramatic twist and they weren't going to be the same codes you got with the blinks.

Update—Took rear left wheel off, inspected the wire and connection, fiddled around with it, knocked some crud off and…the lights are off…for now. I fully expect it to pop up again though and have since bought a hub assembly to do myself one of these weekends.

Thanks for the help here Chapman.

Update: Took the car to Toyota dealership. Dealership told that C1391 Code support program was for 10Yr from first time driven. It was expired in 2022 for my car. Dealership asked for $3600 to fix it. Took it to most trustworthy automobile repair shop in my town (Wylie Texas) and they replaced the Brake Booster pump + ABS pump for $1300. Car drives better than before for sure.
