I have read the gas mileage pdf. I'm wondering why my 2010 Prius has dropped about 5 mph over the past 2-3 years. Some of this may be due to more short trips however long highway trips are also about 5mpg lower than in the past when I got over 50 mpg (currently getting about 45 mpg on the highway, 40 in town). These mpg numbers are taken from the read out on the dash.
Here's more info:

Hi Folks
I have a 2015 Toyota Prius with a replacement battery (actually 2nd replacement - first replacement was defective and replaced for free). I am running stock dimension tires but they are by a company called Sailun (Trezzo h408 size 195/65). Since the 2nd replacement, in my usual commute of 10miles, stop and go with some hills, I've been lucky to get 40mpg. Usually I would get 42-45 but now I'm getting like 36-39. The car has about 150k on it. Weather is pretty mild usually...

Hi all,

I've read some forums and there is alot of info on why MPG is worse in the winter and all that, but what I would like to know is how to improve it! I am getting between 40 and 42 MPG on my 2 week new Prius. The temperature has probably been above freezing, but below 45 F the whole time. I do not have a Garage to park my Prius in, and I don't even understand what this "Blocking" stuff is.

So can you offer tips on improving MPG in the winter? I would really love to see 50 MPG...
Previous owner has done 5K oil changes, ATF, spark plugs, etc ( I m not aware of when exactly). I do not believe he touched EGR.
100% city driving - most of my trips are 20 miles max or less.
Currently at 33MPG as per dash after fill up and trip reset - I can see in the history that previous owner was getting close to 45 MPG based on previous trips. Has All-Weather tires. For change of ownership - I had to get front shocks and...
