      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I need to run a 10A load near the back of the Prius.  This will ONLY be active when the car is in ready mode.<br />
<br />
Tapping off the battery would be very convenient.  Assume use of adequate gauge wire, appropriate fuse, and tidy connections.   Again, load will ONLY be connected when the Prius is in READY mode.<br />
<br />
In this scenario, I&#039;m thinking that the load is being carried by the DC-DC converter and the 12v battery is just a connection point, basically a buffer at best.<br />

I don&#039;t have a Prius, but I&#039;m using a gen3 Prius inverter pump to circulate coolant in an air to water intercooler on my JDM Toyota Vitz (using JDM ST185 Celica GT4 air/water intercooler, custom lines and radiator). See picture of wiring diagram for pump below. <br />
<br />
Relevant points:<br />
1. Right now the pump is pulsing, but from what I&#039;ve read online it should be running constantly. Is this correct?<br />
2. Currently I have GND (white-black) hooked up to chassis ground and +BWP (blue) to 12v...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Leaving the 2012 outside and rarely drive it. Went to check oil and saw this ugly *ss crap. Is this a rat&#039;s nest? I took a shovel and pushed it off where it lay on top of the engine oil cap. Questions:<br />
1. What damage can it have done, other than rats chewing wires? Car seems to run fine.<br />
2. Can anyone tell how old this nest could be?<br />
3. Will it cause damage that I pushed it off to the side?<br />
4. What should I be asking a mechanic to do that won&#039;t cost an arm and a leg?<br />

I tried to determine where it was coming from, ruled out HVAC by turning it off and the whine remains. it sounds like it&#039;s coming from either dead center or to drivers side under the hood, it seems to stop altogether when the ICE turns off.<br />

I just changed the water pump a 2 months ago and immediately after I had to do brakes, rotors, and 1 caliper. Now the brake system has gone haywire. The car needs a brake booster and master cylinder replacement. From what I&#039;m seeing this is a $2000 repair on average. Is it worth it to keep pouring money into this car or just move on?
