Just bought a decent gen 4 with 81k miles. Drives great for the most part. When you accelerate to speed and then take foot off the throttle 95% of the way and hover rpm just above where the ICE is on, the engine will vibrate if you hold it right above the transition zone. In ev mode and at higher acceleration it drives well.

I was thinking of cleaning intake manifold ports, egr pipe and egr valve and skipping the cooler (it looks like you have to move the inverter)

I also thought maybe...

I just did a rear wheel bearing on my 2017 Prius. To get the bearing off I bought a 8 1/2 in 3in bolt and nut and 2 washers one being grade 8, and 2 5/8 nuts as spacers. Put it thru one of the holes and tighten it down on the top brake tab. Tell the bearing moved and the bolt got as tight as I can. Hit the bearing with a hammer a few times around it. And it just popped off. The fastest bearing I have ever done.
I've got about 80k miles on my Prius, and I was told that the rear brakes are very low. Of course, the dealer would love to do it, and insists that the rotors also need to be changed. I can only imagine what they'll charge. I figured I might at least attempt to inspect...
Hey everyone,

I replaced my struts which required a removal of the cowl under the windshield. My problem now, is that I'm having trouble attaching the plastic cowl to the rubber (what is the name of that?), but when I have, the cowl is sunk under the windshield. The rubber piece doesn't stay up, so there's an obvious gap.

Any information is appreciated.
I was wondering if it would be worth resurfacing these rotors or replacing them? The brakes are in great shape and they only have 70,000 miles on them. This happened after the car sat in the rain, which caused surface rust on the rotors. After I drove the car these grooves developed. I am pretty sure the rotors aren’t near the minimum thickness. Just wondering if it is worth resurfacing these rotors. The problem is the pads are good so should I use the same pads...
