Toyota's help line said they have heard you need to break in the battery... which sounded a bit suspect.
Has anyone else dealt with this, and did range improve after a few charge cycles?

I was looking for threads that might answer my question but either I didn't look hard enough or I'm just blind. Anyway, there are times I would have to use HV mode, either because the battery is depleted or because I have the car set to Auto EV/HV mode and sometimes the engine would be used where more power is necessary. In those situations, I noticed my gas number on the gauge cluster...
My question is, if I switch the drive mode to CHARGE Mode so that the ICE charges the HV while driving will my overall mpg decrease? Logic says that it will. I don't drive enough miles to test it in a timely manner.

Does anyone have experience with Charge Mode?...
