No, I do it for trolls who repeat the same falsehoods and aren't worth arguing with, those who lack any ability to make reasonable arguments, and those who effectively contribute nothing to the site or my knowledgebase. It's my way of avoiding being baited into pointless arguments.

The point is anyone following the link and bothering to read the post (with a modicum of understanding) can readily see that the 'trick' in this case is a prostitution of the scientific method via presenting incomplete data to control an agenda rather than present a clear picture.

It was as pointless as this discussion. I was saying that at different times and in different sectors of the community different meanings are given to words and phrases.
Sick in the local youth culture means good, phat is also good, If I said to you, "getting up at 5:00 am has hair on it", it wouldn't mean that it has actual hair on it, but that it is not a nice thing to have to do. I'd rather get up at 8:30am thanks. So in the "world" of climatology trick may just be saying something along these lines, "when you are removing the dash panels from the Prius the trick is to pull back and upward gently until the clips come out of the holes." As you can see I am not talking about magic or an illusion, the panels will really come off in the manner described, but if you do it wrong you will frankly f*** the whole thing up. So you see the word "trick" can be used to describe "the right way to do something" or "a prostitutes job" or a slight of hand. I think in the climate lab, it means the way to get accurate meaningful results that take into account know variables like location and local changes to the environment like reductions in tree cover or increases in urban sprawl.

Why am I allowing myself to be sucked into this crap? Let there be an enquiry into the unlawful theft of the emails and see what results.
