What's with the ads, seemingly for everything from soup to nuts, that appear in many posts, sometimes obscuring the text in the post?
You mean a dropdown ad from the top ad or ads inbetween posts in a thread. If you are seeing ads inbetween posts in a thread from time to time you probably are not logged in while seeing the,, I think guests get that.
I finally gave up and installed AdBlock Plus on Firefox. I don't see any of the banner ads now. Some of the banner ads interfere with the search function. No, the ads actually appear within the posts themselves and sometimes obscure portions of the text in the post. However, following up on your suggestion, I logged in and discovered that the ads do not show up while I am logged in. Double-checking, I logged out and the annoying ads once again appear. From now on, I'll be sure to log in when visiting PriusChat. Thanks for the clue.

No problem, glad I could help. I actually got logged out one day and didn't know it and was like "what the hell with all these ads?!" Then I realized I wasn't logged in so that's the only reason I guessed that was the problem right away lol.
