Hello everyone. I just sold my 09' Package 6 last week (for top dollar I may add) and took delivery yesterday of a Blizzard Pearl on Bisque Prius V with Advanced Tech Package. Got it for BELOW INVOICE if you can believe that. It must be a year-end thing. I love the car! Too bad Misty Grey interior is so hard to find. I would have loved the 2-tone styling accents. Does anyone know of a good automotive interior company in L.A. area that might be able to dye the interior door panels a darker color so as to create the same effect as the misty grey color scheme? Those panels will darken in time anyways from use so I thought I might as well do it first. Thanks
Congrats with your new car. Wow, a dealer sold the car below their cost? Congrats. Which dealer was this?
Had a silver 2009 silver genII prius pkg5 traded it in, think I did OK!! Only had 20K miles.but wanted 2010 so I bought it!!Wow what a difference A year makes ,The dealer had 42 of the 2010'S...I had to wait for my 2009 for 2 months !!! bought a 2010 pkg V wow this thing is nice. Heated seats, leather, Better gas mileage, Just a nicer car all around!!Feels like your driving a lexus. The color is sandy beach, I was sick of silver, blk, blue, red, and all the other colors you see priuses in. with the pkg5 you also get 17 inch 5 spoke alloy wheels!! Like the LED lights What I like is your not pumpin gas all the time!!I fill up every couple of weeks."
Congrats! We got also got V, Blizzard Pearl/Misty Gray Int w/ Nav at below invoice as well on New Years Eve. We were the very last customer! We love it!
I suspect there are other aspects of these below invoice deals that aren't being disclosed, like getting creamed on a trade in - just one explanation. But maybe not...
I did a lot of research I used this site called fightingchance.com where they give you excellent information regarding car buying, negotiating and prices on the vehicle you want to purchase, including demand/supply. It is an amazing wealth of information and they do a great job, was worth the $39.95 IMO. I also got advice from carbuyingtips.com where I got free quotes by going to sites like edmunds, invoicedealers, etc. during the last week of the month. Timing definitely is key. I did this when we bought our 2008 Camry Hybrid in March 08, where after contacting 10 dealers from the internet/fleet dept, 2 dealers offered $500 below invoice (they were even offering $500 below invoice for the '08 prius at the time plus cash back incentives, I believe it was $750 cash back for the '08 Prius and $1000 cash back for the TCH which we got) bear in mind the '09s just came out. We got the '08 TCH w/ leather, Nav, Moonroof for $29,100 OTD, plus got $8K trade-in for our 2000 Sienna that had 58,000 miles which was right in line with the kbb figure which I showed a copy of. Also it helps that I brought a stack of paperwork such as my credit reports, kbb figures, edmunds TMV figures, and a carmax offer in hand to negotiate a trade-in in my folder. For our 2010 Prius V Blizzard Pearl w/ Nav, we got it for $29,440, $32,500 OTD (included carpet/floor mats, cargo organizer, plus they threw in a free cargo net, free leather conditioner & a free first oil change). I guess bottom line is, be prepared, and do your research. We bought our vehicles right at the end of the month, and for the Prius we were the very last customer of 2009.
