Scanning recent recall reports by Reuters, I'm puzzled by the disproportionate coverage of Toyota. For example: "Feb 10 (Reuters) - Honda Motor said it would recall another 438,000 cars globally to replace an airbag deflator that could rupture and send shards towards the driver in an accident." "Oct. 2009 - Ford completed a series of recalls affecting 14 million vehicles due to faulty cruise control deactivation switch. The latest recall involved some 4.5 million vehicles." "2010 - Honda recalled 646,000 of its Fit/Jazz and City automobiles globally over a faulty window switch after a child died when fire broke out in a car last year."
Wouldn't it be quite a story if the Big 3 and/or certain politicians paid off various media outlets to smear Toyota?!?! Basically, kicking them while they're down and rubbing salt in their wounds.
Because its interesting that one company recall on the same problem so many times over so many years. Everyone thought that it was fixed in the last recall, but then recall again on the same problem only with a different part!
