I just changed my oil and replaced Mobil One 0 W 20 with Valvoline Synthetic 0 W 20. I had 10,000 miles on the Mobil One oil and nearly 4 quarts came out and I put in 4 quarts when I changed the oil, 10,000 miles ago. Walmart did not have Mobil One 0 W 20 weight all they had was Valvoline, so I used that. I took a test drive and it seems to run, and sound just like Mobil One. Also I think the Valvoline Oil is a little thinner, or at least is seems to be. I will let you know how it works out, on Friday 03/19/10 we are driving to Meza Arizona to visit family. By the time we get back it will be nearly 3,000 miles. alfon
I checked the product data sheets and it turns out that the Mobil 1 0W-20 at a 100C/40C cSt viscosity of 8.6/45.5 is a hair thinner than the Valvoline 0W-20 100C/40C cSt viscosity of 8.8/47. They both have good TBN numbers (8.3 for the Valvoline and 8.5 for the Mobil 1) so should be good for longer drains. Rumple
