Note the desert setting looks like San Diego. About a minute in the video, is that an MFD? I think NASA is helping Toyota with unintentional acceleration so they can develop something like this to replace the Shuttle. http://www.youtube.com/v/ASvBTqfTrzA&hl=en_US&fs=1&
I love the early 60's Groovy soundtrack. Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, the names rung a bell, so looked it up. Sure enough, they also gave us Space-1999. I note a distinct obsession on their part But the series I want to see advertised on every electronic billboard is DICK SPANNER DICK SPANNER EPISODE GUIDE Here is a pickup line I want to use: "Excuse me honey, I have to find that Dick Spanner, be right back"
When i first viewed the video, the thing that immediately sprang to mind was the JETEX Model 50 miniature solid fuel jet engine. (A cunningly simple "toy," that was, oh, I guess about 1-1/2 inches long.) We used to put 'em on anything that moved; cars, boats, planes. The toy vehicles rarely survived the day. But the Jetex lived on and on to fire the imagination and burn hotly another day. Fun, fascinating, and very dangerous for young boys. The whole rise and fall of JETEX. Oops! Sorry. :focus:
Hate to say this, but I'm afraid that Supercar makes SUVs seem relatively green. Supercar doing a fish fry at the end of the video.
You BET they were! And the exhaust was just as "harmless" as the NERVA tests NERVA (Nuclear Engine for Rocket Vehicle Application) Nuclear Rockets There was an excellent tv documentary, along the lines of Trinity and Beyond: The Atomic Bomb Movie, that presented extremely rare and restored test footage from ORION and NERVA tests done at Jackass Flats, Nevada Test Site
Isn't it funny that in the 1950's people were dreaming of nuclear cars yet today there are those concerned about EMF in hybrids? Homeland Security would be really cool to the idea of nuclear cars.
I want a nuclear flying scooter. I promise not to purposely crash it into any buildings or build a bomb from the powertrain components.
Funny how times change. Oh sure, you say that NOW but the temptation is just too great. All it takes is an evening of heavy drinking, improper application of the Turbo Boost, and next thing you know, a Breaking News Flash on CNN Though for "routine" mishaps all you'll need is that Dick Spanner
