Hmmm, so GM made a $4.3 billion loss for the period July 2009 to December 2009. Call me a cynic but when did the Toyota problems start to hit the press? :mod: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8607883.stm
My #1 question: was this an anticipated loss or was this expected as part of the "turnaround"? I'm not a financial guy but I think you know what I mean. Sometimes I hear corporate heads talking about anticipated hits to the budget for restructuring, write-offs, material purchases, etc.
It was for the most part expected. The key will be financial results for the 1st and 2nd quarters of 2010 and calendar year 2010.
Funny how this GM news didn't make the headlines LOL. And they say the press is unbiased, yeah right.....
I checked the forums first to make sure I wasn't posting a duplicate thread. It is odd that it made the news here but not in the US, especially as the American people own a 61% share.
It's been in the news here. Not high profile, but in the news. I think most of us are too jaded to bother posting about it. Tom
GM losing $1 billion a month isn't news. If GM had reported a profit of--a shilling THAT would have been news.
