Last year, we hit our "energy surplus" day on June 6th. This year, we hit it on April 29th. http://priuschat.com/forums/environ...81-energy-surplus-day-june-6th-2009-woot.html Basically, our meter (which was set to 50,000 when we got it August 2007), is now below 50,000. From now until August 3rd will be the "net electricty" that we have generated in a 3 year period. I was actually expecting to hit this day a lot sooner this year, but with the wet winter we had, the day got delayed. Still, I'd rather have the water, thank you very much! On even better news, I was at my son's basebally game the other day and had 2 dads come up to me to inquire about PV systems for their homes. So, hopefully I was very encouraging to them about our syste. From the looks of it, the systems going up now are even more effective and less expensive than ours which is only 3 years old. (is there such a thing as panel envy?)
