NYPD to add Ford Fusion Hybrids to its police car fleet

    Ford Hybrids: Tough Enough To Be Police Cars in New York City - Green Car Reports

    Wow, the NYPD has Toyota Prius, Nissan Altima Hybrid, Ford Escape Hybrid, and now it will be adding the Ford Fusion Hybrid to its fleet.

    I'm guessing that the hybrid experiment in NYC has been a success!

    Any other big city police departments have large hybrid patrol car fleets?

    NYPD already use Nissan Altima Hybrids for police vehicles and Prii for traffic patrols.

    Yea, I have seen Prius, Altima Hybrid and Escape Hybrid NYPD vehicles. It would be great to see Fusion Hybrids as well.

    Prius is mostly used by the traffic dept giving out tickets.
