Greetings again! I am back in the market for a prius, this time a 2010 with the factory installed paint protective laminate and floor mats. How much should I be paying for a model II base and these features in North Carolina, with tags taxes licenses and fees? I am looking for a total cost and a breakdown of the costs so I know if the dealership is trying to screw me. Also, what do people do these days to protect the doors from parking lot scratches and dings? Are there any buffers or bumpers or something to protect? Thanks for your help!
Go to www.aaa.com to build a car & get up to 3 dealer quotes. Go to your DMV's website or call them regarding the fees & taxes. Dealers routinely inflate these to boost the profit margin. Go to www.ventureshield.com to find an installer & get as much film on the car as you can as the paint is not very durable. You probably also want the black rubber piece across the top of the rear bumper. NYC taxis run a black rubber strip around the car.
My ding protection is to always park far, far away from all other cars. So far it's worked perfectly.
Yeah I wish that worked. I parked far away from anyone and someone still dinged my door directly on the narrow cosmetic crease close to the mirror. Any idea how to pop it out?
