Ok, so I just got my prius 48 hours ago.... Now, sadly, she has been in an accident! As I was PARKING my car... turning right into an open parking spot with my blinker ON, some chick behind me (who was late for a court appointment), tried to speed by me ON THE RIGHT!!! (still not sure how she got beside me as I did not think there was any room) She was going fast enough that she hit my right front corner of my car with her drivers side BACK DOOR!!!!! Needless to say, I wanted to rip her eyes out! :mad2: I can't believe it! no bags deployed, and no one was injured. I have to take it to a body place tomorrow for an estimate of damages. The girl was not even cited. I am still in shock over it. More questions than answers right now, but I want her to pay for the deductible... and then pay for the price difference for a new car vs one with a car fax accident report! AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!! :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :mad2:
Sorry to hear about your accident. Glad everyone is OK. I feel for you having an accident with the car barely 48 hours old.
I too am grateful that all are ok. Everything else if fixable, but will cost me in the end (possible higher insurance, deductible etc) That part is what I am most upset over. but again, all parties are ok and I need to focus on that being the most important thing. (just hard to )
will put some up tonight. camera phone pics won't be worth a crap, so I will get some good shots later.
no. but I asked a cop pal, and he said since it was in a parking lot, and not on public property for say (ie a street) was more than likely why. He certainly could have, but chose not to.
In our beloved Ballamer, the cops won't even write a report unless one or both of the follow are true: * there were personal injuries requiring med-evac, * one or both cars can't be driven form the scene. It's departmental policy, doncha know, hon. "In service to the public..." Not.
Glad you are ok. That's a real bummer! Sadly it seems that many police depts don't give tickets in parking lots, private drives, and even on city streets. My Avalon was hit by a person backing up while it was parked at a curb. Several policemen were just a few yards away but wouldn't even take a report. Thankfully he was a responsible person and had insurance that fixed it without hassle. I had only had the Avalon a few weeks when it happened.
I feel your pain. I see this kind of driving all the time and it makes me crazy. I have come to expect it. Hopefully, it is not a major repair, but I know how much that first nick hurts.
...and your tires are not even dirty !!! Take it to a top quality body shop that stands behind its work. I'm sure they'll also check the 4 wheel alignment closely. That's very important.
she wasn't easy on the eyes.......that is for sure. Sigh. I know it will get fixed. kind of takes the "newness" factor out of her though!
