Hi folks! If you're looking for the spark plugs for Gen II Prius (Denso SK16R11), you can also use the GM part number for the same part: 94859448 GM uses this part for the GM/Toyota partnered cars (e. g., Vibe). It looked to me that you can get the same part from GM for less.
A great find! How did you determine that the GM plug is the same? I see that two (or maybe three) spark plug types are listed for the Toyota Matrix, depending upon model year and engine size: http://www.trademotion.com/partloca...trix&year=2006&catalogid=2&displayCatalogid=0 http://www.trademotion.com/partloca...trix&year=2009&catalogid=2&displayCatalogid=0
I just changed mine (spent $150 of Toyota Credit-Card Bucks at the dealer to stock up on parts) - the plugs are clearly Denso SK16R11. I did a search of SK16R11 to see how much I got "overcharged" and one of the sites crossed the three plugs together - SK16R11, NGK IFR5A11 and 94859448. A bit more searching on 94859448 alone ties it back to being the Denso SK16R11. I wouldn't trust me - Google "94859448 SK16R11" and convince yourself this is the case.
Yup! _IF_ that's really the same plug, that is one heck of a deal! I "paid" $16.79 each at the dealer (Miller Toyota Anaheim CA). Only reason I actually paid retail is I had Toyota Visa card bonus points to spend (they can only be spent at a dealer).
Hey, I might try the local GM dealer(s) if any of them are still around when its time to change the plugs on my 2007.
Tag, you're it! If you actually bought them, you have to let us PCers know if these are the real deal or not!
I just checked the shipping in the cart. I changed my plugs about 30k miles ago. It will be awhile until I'll need another set.
Advanced auto parts has a sweet coupon right now, spend $60 and you can use a 25$ coupon online. The code is BIG25. Yesterday I bought a spark plug wrench, 4 spark plugs, engine body cleaner, 2 bottles of rainx windshield washer fluid, a spark plug sizer, and antiseize for $38.81. I picked my order up in store.
