I have these stock tires on my Prius, I checked the door and I checked the manual but I did not find any recommended PSI levels. Can someone tell me the recommended PSI levels for front and rear tires?
35 psi front, 33 psi rear Open your drivers door and look on the post to the rear of the door. A white sticker with a red bordered pressure table should be there. Many people will recommend that you can run more than the recommended pressure to get better fuel economy, but lets save that for after you are comfortable checking and adjusting your tire pressure.
When I used the pressure gauge, it told me the PSI was at 37.5 (very hot day, about 20mins after letting the car cool down after work)...the thing is, it's hard to get the gauge mounted...some of the air escapes. I will test it again tomorrow morning (cold start) and if the PSIs are higher/lower than 35/33, I will lower/increase them.
I checked all four tires. Rear left: 35 PSI, adjusted to 33. Front Left: 33 PSI adjusted to 35.5PSI. Only those 2 were not the proper PSI levels.
I believe that sticker is mandatory, I would take it to the dealer and have them add it! I recall back when Ford Exploders were rolling over on the highways, Ford had to replace those stickers with modified tire pressure because the listed PSI was considered to low...
Yes sorry, I found it now.....I somehow did not notice the label on the post...I thought it was on the door post itself.
