While attending the 17th Annual Sierra Nevada Alliance Conference at South Lake Tahoe Community College, I came out to find the windshield shattered. Apparently a Douglas tree squirrel released a green cone from a western white pine directly onto the front windshield (about a 50 meter drop). I was parked in shade and did not think to look up. The glass did not break up, but was greatly depressed toward the dash. There were many fine glass shards all over the dash. I received a CHP "fix it" ticket on the way home. A glass company replaced the windshield this morning in less than one hour.
You would think "Jon & Ponch" would have better things to do, like running down the damn squirrel that caused your problem in the first place!!!
Glad you were not in the car at the time. I was in a car that had the windshield hit by rock thrown from an overpass.
