Isn't the internet wonderful? It gives nut cases like trollers, haters, spammers, and authors like this too much of a platform so therapists should have even more work. Let's revisit such articles a few years from now when we are well into PeakOil.
ouch! i had a miata for 10 years, i liked the ssr and have driven the prius for 6. does that make me a triple douche?
If you think you may be a douche, you probably are. None of these things necessarily make you a douche, and being a woman or gay would explain these things if you aren't one.
I like nearly all cars on that list except for that boxy one But then again people do call me a git which I guess is UK English for douche since a douche is a shower to me. Bet that rhetoric just proved the point
Well I'm laughing. Including The Prius, the list includes several other vehicles I really like. Xb, Mustang, Miata... Oh well? People attach stereotypes. What can you do? I actually give the author Kudos for including some very popular vehicles. Miata's are beloved. I think if you were comprising a list you could probably create an arguement for inclusion or exclusion of almost any vehicle. Bottom line, people are douchebags or not, and that really isn't primarily defined by what their automotive choice might be. Suprised Jeep and Honda Fit weren't on the list.
Yes sounds like UK consumption, and then it is not taking into account the figure is less than the prius, fuel price per liter is about 6% more, and a road fund license (tax) cost money. Oh and it also emits co2 during it's manufacturing ;-)
It seems like I read this about two years ago. Apparently, when the auther wrote it, he'd just gotten a hold of the debunked / Art Spinella / Hummer is more economical than a Prius / Sudburry Mine /pseudo science article. Even then, the poor auther was way behind the times. He probably hasn't taken his eyes of the juggy girls long enough to notice Hummer is out of business. Yea, I had to laugh too ... how someone behind the times is thinking they're edgy. .
That was the Aussie hypermiling couple doing a 48 state tour two years ago, which Wayne Gerdes soon crushed with a Civic Hybrid in poor weather. But what's the big deal? Our Japanese hypermiling cohorts have proven that Priuses can get almost 120 mpg.
I would have hoped he realized that even the H2 has an instantaneous MPG readout right in the dash cluster! Makes it entertaining when it drops to below 1mpg. 0.8mpg is not uncommon when accelerating (even mildly) or up a hill. Comfortable, but that is about it's only redeeming quality. Gotta love big-three quality. $60k car, and a $5k transmission less than 4 years after purchasing! Glad I wasn't the idiot my friend was when he bought it.
