All- Looks like my time with my 2008 Prius is coming to an end within the next few months. Wife is pregnant with child #3, and when I put an infant carrier for the new baby and toddler seat (for 16 month old) in my Prius' rear seat, there is simply not enough room for my 8 year old to sit in the middle comfortably. I'm forced to get a larger car that can carry all the kids and our gear, and it has to be a hybrid so I can use the HOV lanes here in NJ, so I'm headed to a Highlander. Anyone know of any good forums for Highlander similar to this one? -MKL
Too bad you probably can't wait. Sounds like the upcoming Prius V might actually be the vehicle you need. Remember you always have the option of giving up one or more of the children for adoption...that would allow you to continue to enjoy the gas savings and wonder of The Prius.
I think you are a perfect candidate for the Prius V (alpha) with third row seating. It is coming out next year, not sure when it will hit the dealership.
Yep, may be a good time to look for a used minivan - there should be a lot more efficient vehicles in a year or so...
toyotanation is one large Toyota community. It may not be specific to the HiHy but there should be a decent Highlander community.
I like that Alpha! Baby's not due till late July next year, so by then, we'll see what's out. I'd much rather have something like the Alpha than a huge heavy Highlander any day. -MKL
don't do it! when i was a boy, our parents drove 6 of us around in a 55 rambler! uphill, both ways!
I remember many family trips, five people in a Chevrolet Cavalier wagon. Comfortable for us kids? Ha, I rather recall not! Still, regularly five in a Prius is a squeeze.
Try a 60's Corvair with no A/C and dear old dad smoking a cigar in 90 degree July. Talk about green (kids)... all of us were. :focus: Get the Alpha...
To go back to the OP's original question... there use to be a Highlander Hybrid site similar to PC, but I think it has closed due to lack of participation/interest.
