When I unlock my car using the fob key, it automatically locks again after around 30 seconds and I have no idea why. Is this a common thing and can it be changed?
I don't know if it can be changed or not, but it's meant to be a security feature - if you open any door or the hatch before the 30 seconds is up then it won't do it.
This can be changed by a stealer or anyone in possession of a Toyota scantool/Techstream. It's simply a helpful feature in case you accidentally hit the unlock button on your fob without meaning to. The car assumes you aren't going in afterall and re-locks. It will not autolock though if you do not lock it manually at least once.
Yep. It's to cover the cases where you accidentally press the unlock button (maybe something in your pocket pressed it) and if none of the doors are opened, the car will lock itself cause it thinks you didn't mean to unlock it after all.
