Hi All, I Have been looking for a Haynes manual for a UK 2007 Prius but the only version I can find is the US version (Product: Toyota Prius 2001 - 2008 (USA)) I have also read in the forums about dowloading the factory manuals but again only the US versions. Does anyone know if the two versions are similer enough that I can use the US manuals or if there is a source for the UK versions. I am currently in Malaysia and the 2007 version is not available here so the local dealers are not an option! Thanks Phil
Not sure but I think this is down to cost cutting on Haynes behalf. I had a UK spec Jeep Cherokee and purchased a UK Haynes manual for it and was a little cheesed off to find that it was a reprint of the US Haynes manual. It was useful enough as those cars were pretty similar and there was a page at the front that indicated using data for the Canadian Cherokee as it was nearer the UK spec. I guess the same will apply to the Prius Haynes manual. The US version is near enough for most things and anything more complicated is unlikely to be carried out by a diy-er. In other words the Haynes manual is great for changing brake pads or the oil but wiring loom diagnostics is best left to the professionals.
The main differences between US and European Prii are: Brakes - You have 4 wheel disk brakes US have drums in the rear Gas Tank - Yours is a standard tank US has a Bladder inside the tank Different option packages JeffD ps, You can download a Prius Technical Manual at: http://www.selidori.com/tech/prius/DOC/ Use the 2006 (tech2006.rar) manual for 2007-2009 Prii.
