Too true. I think the only thing you left out was the obligate, house-sized FUV "needed" as a means to acquire said dirt-cheap products to which we were entitled to store, after their brief period of non-obsolescence, in our ever-shrinking houses/garages/kitsch museums on the cul-de-sac.
As gas moves up to 3.25 and stays, I'd expect the supply of 2010's to diminish. Prices are still low -- decent discounts because they need to get rid of the 2010s. Once the 2011s finally appear, look for limited inventories to keep prices closer to msrp with no rebates. The bean counters at Toyota over produced the 2010s big time. They won't do it for the 2011s.
While getting gas tonight, a huge Dodge diesel pick up truck was filling up on the other side of the pump from me. He muttered something loudly to his passenger as he got back in but I couldn't quite make it out. After he drove off, I went around to look at the pump and saw the display: $91.50!
