Very much so... in a marriage between a man and a woman of course. Eph. 5:23-32 He created us, He should know us.
So why did your "god" make homosexuals and lesbians? Why did "he" make sexual urges so strong in young people? Why does it feel better when it is with someone your not married to?
There are all kinds of people with a measured difference from the norm but that fact alone doesn't mean that God made them that way.
Let's try to keep things on topic. It truly is possible to have a discussion - and even open, heated debate - without inferences about each other. Please.
Ever wonder why GOD is DOG spelled backwards? Could it be that ancient civilization, looking for comfort and peace of mind, sought a means to find the answer - determined that a 'supreme being' would work, was irrefutable, and just as easily to disprove than prove - and when thinking of a name for this supreme being, looked down and saw the family pet, and.....
Did you hear about the agnostic dyslexic insomniac that lay asleep all night wondering if there was a Dog?
Or the lead actress from the National Dyslexic Theater, who became despondent and threw herself behind a bus. Tom
This thread never was on topic. Re-read my OP - NO ONE save Chuck in post #15 has made the slightest attempt to address the question, and his answer was just a terse statement that he might be more pessimistic toward life's end. I've kept out of it as the discussion that is taking place has some interest, but it really belongs in some other thread than this one. I think the question is too uncomfortable or too difficult to face honestly, which is why it's been totally ignored. Or it requires a depth of introspection most aren't comfortable revealing in a public forum. Oh well. Thanks for the attempt, Tony, but I've given this one up for lost and the discussion that is taking place raises its own points worthy of exploration, so I'd let it go.
You made the question so incredibly narrow, that I certainly could not give an answer. Basically, you set the question and conditions up that allow only one answer in essence.
?????? That certainly wasn't my intent and I haven't got a clue what "conditions" I'm supposed to have imposed. Help me out, say you reject "conditions" and answer without being bound by whatever you think they were (and it'd help if you specified what you think they were so I don't make the mistake in future).
Here is #5: QUOTE=bisco;1247453]... Hard to say for sure but I guess it would be survival of the fittest. Evolution at it's best. Do away with the weak and powerless. Live for myself, what else would be the point? I don't understand why atheists are so desirous of helping others; I wasn't before Jesus called me[/QUOTE] Yes, thank you, you did address the question. I bolded the parts that were in answer to the question itself; the rest is speculation about how society might be affected. My question didn't ask for that because none of us can speak for society. The only ones we can speak for with any authority are ourselves, and the bolded parts are how you would be affected. I missed those - my apologies.
