"First Day of classes. It'll be hard finding a parking place." "Oh that's OK. I'll drive you in." ------------ Several hours later, an afternoon snow storm... the University closed early today. Tip toed my way along ice-crusted, slippery roads into campus, to retrieve dear wife... Long line of traffic on the way back home...slowed for pedestrians standing on the curb... stopped completely as they began cross.... KA-WHAM!!!! Eased over to the side of the road, slowly opened the door, pulled myself out and trudged around to the back to survey the damage. Massachusetts plates! Damn! Harley-Davidson emblem on his shirt... short, mellow  fellow muttering over and over, "50 feet... I slid over 50 feet! Fifty feet!" The plastic bumper was badly cracked and misaligned... he'll need a new one. I guess that's what happens when someone runs into the frame-mounted, steel T-Bar... sticking out the rear of your nine-year old Honda CR-V! Maybe popped off some of the rust... otherwise no damage to our car. Luckily, the two-day old Prius was home, snug and warm inside its garage. It would have exploded in the impact! ------------ Continued from above, "Maybe I'll take the CR-V... we're supposed to have a snow storm today."
A small black compact. I didn't catch the make or model. At least it wasn't a Lincoln Town Car. Oops... you're from Boston... I shouldn't demean Mass drivers
Nice story! You had me convinced your Prius was toast, but the surprise ending makes me recommend this read to everyone. Happy Motoring, Tom
