i was in my Prius today i saw my target. she may be old but i knew the Prius was up to the challenge. the light was about to turn. we were both itching for "the win" WE WERE OFF!!!!!!! neck and neck we raced the streets she was pulling away i would not let her win over my TOYOTA PRIUS!!!!! there was only one thing to do. *i don't condone any street racing* i have cabin fever from all this snow and ice
As god is my witness... I beat a Mustang off the light for 60 yards... My son III said, "Dad, this ain't a Corvette... why are you doing this"... I said, "Son, I do it because I can..." My MPG was pointing at 11... comparable to my avatar off the line as a matter of fact... just not as quick, nor with the same handling or top speed... but there IS a comparison. So Say I. Bob Jr
Heyyyyyy now. I have gotten my Prius up to a whopping 103MPH! Of course I thought it was going to explode, but I did it!
I find that it handles crappy at 80mph+. The car is too "floaty" at high speeds. I need to lower it or throw on a wing on the rear to add some downforce.
I hope that was on a closed course... :mod: Coilovers and better tires to make a really big difference, coincidentally.
Me too, but my car's speedo is in kilometres per hour. Better tires have made a huge difference to the handling and safety, as has installing a chassis brace, but it's no sports car.
It was through some of canyons of Utah/Colorado on the interstate that I had it between 100-110 (mph ) with the rest of left lane traffic. No cops around since there is a cliff wall on one side and a guardrail on the other that wont really help you from falling into the abyss. But not-OEM but not great tires pumped up to about 40psi and it hugged the corners. No steering wheel travel, no "floating".
