It's hard to vote when the truth eludes us. He couldve been dead 10 years ago or he could still be alive. Either way, I don't think he died on Sunday. Edit: Ok I voted for #2. If the government is telling the truth, then it could be called the greatest debacle in special forces and modern warfare. Kill an unarmed public enemy #1 and then dump the body in the ocean in less than 24 hours without a thorough autopsy? You'd think university laboratories would be studying this guy for the next 20 years.
Im nowhere near as skeptical as you are. I believe with about 99% certainty that the truth is being told. But when things arent seemingly logical,I reserve a small % chance we are being hosed. Especially when the story changes every 6 hours. Now they say it wasnt really a firefight.
The standard in a criminal court is "beyond a reasonable doubt," not "beyond any old doubt you can think of." Let's go down to the nearest US Naval base and call the SEALs liars. Woo-doggies.
I am never in favor of taking human life. (barring him vs me, then I am on my side) OTOH, Osama started it.
Not according to the Hatriots around like here HiHo, MJ and their ilk. Nope according to them we started it. :glare:
Wouldn't OBL have been in favor of Sharia Law? Would Sharia law call for a trial of peers, guilt beyond a shadow of a doubt and a lengthy appeals process? The last time I checked, some of the criticism surrounding Sharia Law is the swift - and sometimes missplaced - brutal and/or fatal "justice". Why should we extend our polite and kind justice system to someone who doesn't believe in it? I believe that we funded OBL with money, weapons and training in the fight against Russia. I believe that he orchestrated and/or funded many terrorist attacks around the world. I believe he deserved to be hunted and shot. I believe that how one behaves in victory is equally as important than how one behaves in defeat. I believe it was the right thing to bury him within 24 hours of death in accordance to Muslim Law not out of respect for him but out of respect for Muslims. In summary, I believe that the man deserved what he got and then some but am proud that we separate the man from the people and the religion. I voted #1.
I was informed that he died the first time in Dec.2001 at Tora Bora. At least that was what the New York times was reporting at the time back then.
