about two weeks ago i saw some moisture under the odometer screen. . I went to the dealer, the dealer said it is chemicals and will not be under toyota's warranty. what ever it is , I think it should be under warranty since it is under two layers of glasses, if it is not toyota's fault, how can it get there. i am pretty upset, think about sue toyota. any advise?
Before you go off on a lawsuit, remember the only ones that win in frivouslous lawsuits are the lawyers From the odometer screen I am assuming that you mean the right hand screen that is normally called the MID screen that has the Trip A or B mileage, consumption, average mpg plus odometer reading, etc. If so, this is a known problem by many on here including me. Most dealers have replaced the electronic module under warranty. My dealer elected to remove mine and clean the lenses but also under warranty. I am fine with this and so far the condensation has not returned. Search this site for Fungus, moisture or condensation on display screens and you will find multiple reports of this. I would suggest printing out some of these threads and take it back to your dealer. If the dealer still insists that Toyota will not replace under warranty, either find another dealer or call Toyota Customer Care and report this.
