Verizon phone makes my 2007 Prius beep like it's being unlocked Scenario: Just got back from errands and am in the garage looking for something. Car beeps like it is being unlocked but I am no where near the keys. Just a minute later the guy who mows my lawn comes in the garage to get lawn mower. Beeps happen again. He says it is his phone beeping when he gets a text message. I told him it sounds exactly like my car beeping, and I press the unlock button, it beeps twice --- exactly like his phone. I put the keys aside and a minute later my car beeps twice (like it is unlocking) and it happens again in the next minute. I took the keys in the house. He says his phone is a Verizon phone. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm not making this up.
If you hit the unlock, but didn't open the door, then the system would have automatically re-locked after a minute. That was likely the beep you heard after you took the keys inside.
