I have placed an order for an IQ with Dianne Whitmire. Its going to be blizzard pearl. Hoping to have it sometime next month. Thanks Dianne for working with me!
Hey another IQ owner You'll love it - you really will. It's a great fun car, easy to drive and will certainly stand out in the US. Looking forward to seeing the pics in due course.
Thanks. I am excited. I don't think there is much love on this forum for the IQ, but that's OK. I still like it. It will be a bit of a novelty for a while here in Arizona since the launch date for us is January. Probably get some funny looks. Do you own an IQ GC?
I think the iQ is a cute little car. For 90% of the time, it's all the car I need. I'm looking forward to pictures.
I feel the same way. I see alot of people on different forums complaining about price, but I think it is pretty reasonable. I think Toyota was pushing to keep the base price under 16k. The car I am getting had two added options: rear speakers and rear storage area. Also the $220 for the blizzaed pearl. I went conservative, and chose the BP. I have not had a vacation in a long time. I might just have to take a road trip. One of my stops will be Chicago (have a friend in Glenview). You could always check it out.
No I don't but my girlfriend/partner does. It's not as economical as the Prius, it's not as fast, it's not as comfortable BUT it does have loads of character and I enjoy taking it out on my days off. You can park it pretty much anywhere and the turning circle is amazing. It will be novel in the US as it's regarded as super small over here where small cars are much more common. There are a few pics of it in one of my albums.
Congrats! If it was 2008, I would've bought the iQ over the smart fortwo (which was what I ended up with in 2008). Definitely a great urban runabout. I miss being able to park anywhere with a smart. Rear storage... is that a cargo box?
I am not sure what the rear storage is. Dianne just said all the cars coming would have it. I was really worried that my current car would not sell. Put it on Craigslist Saturday and it was gone in less than an hour. Now I am car less. But if I would have waited, it probably would not have sold. Lol I am really excited to get this car!
On the front, or the back? I've seen similar cars being towed behind a motorhome, to be used as runabouts when camping. Well, they call it 'camping', but there aren't any tents involved, so it can't be.
I'm looking forward to seeing the iQ on US roads, and I would love to rent one for a couple of days. Enjoy you new car, Bretaz. Let us know how the MPG goes.
Page ??? of the owners manual: iQ may not be fitted with a trailer hitch. ... which meant that when I moved this weekend, it was with the 1.0 liter, 850kg. Yaris pulling huge trailer instead of my 1.4l, 1050kg. diesel iQ with 3 times as much torque. Thankfully the Yaris managed perfectly
I've seen Goldwings and even smaller bikes pulling trailers enough times to know it wasn't some lone eccentric.
I've seen posts claiming 50 miles range ... then other sources saying 65 miles range. So which is it? If it's got a 24kWh battery pack (coupled with it's teeny size), it sure seems like it'd be rated higher than even the higher of those 2 numbers.
