Maybe it is just me, but for some reason Toyota's current round of commercials are just downright odd. Dare I say creepy even. Was doing my daily round of web surfing when I came across one of these commercials for the Toyota Yaris "It's a car" series.. Went to the website and watched them all just out of curiosity, and they can all be seen here: Yaris - Its a Car! . I thought the Prii commercial with the person made out of people was slightly odd, but these take the cake. I just don't want to see them scare away potential customers by not giving them useful information about the cars, and spending their advertising money more wisely in the process.
i can't think of a toyota commercial i've ever liked. they are trying to do more than advertise the car, but they just don't come off right to me. but i know a lot of people here like them.
You are right, somewhat creepy. I think it is "Mission Accomplished" for the advertiser when people talk about your commercial or tweet their friends, and if it is considered controversial, the media may even pick it up on a slow news day, etc...! Voila!
It looks like an "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"-type take off on the iconic all white Apple packaging. Where's the cool knapsack/bag? Do you need to go on-line to accept the user's agreement and get a bunch of software updates.
