Yes, there are other factors going on right now like cooler weather, etc. It will take a couple more tank refills to be able to better compare.

I am wondering if Toyota did not intentionally tighten up the brake friction with the TSB's to help wipe for rust buildup. It would make sense that they would want minimum friction for less drag and maximum mpg to start with. Then tighten up the friction after brake complaints. Again, it will take some time to see if the pads wear in and the tightness loosens up some.

The pads were probably switched to less aggressive material to prevent squeak. Mine still squeak a little, but less than before. I will know for sure once the pads and rotor (left side) get replaced again on Thursday.

As far as I know, a scan tool is not required for pad replacement. My rear pads measured at 8mm on both sides, not sure how you got 10mm?

Glad to hear the dealer is replacing your rear rotor and pads. That is the right thing for them to do.

If you will look at the pads they taper on the ends. When I measured on the end I measured 8 mm. When I measured in the middle I measured the 10 mm.
