    The right time would have been many decades ago. The longer we wait, the more difficult it will be, and the greater the consequences become.

    I share the authors concern about depletion of resources, not just for energy, but metals, water, etc. But the author relies on a peak oil argument to "scare" us into immediate action. I am reposting an WSJ article by one of world's experts in oil supply. Believe it would be probably good enough if we had a medium-long term strategy, but of course we do not have one.
