Howzit all, I have been having problems with audio playback when using my iPhone connected via the USB port. I recently learned about the Service Menu so I was messing around with it and I found two codes for the USB BOX stored they are B1585 and B15DF. I have no idea what they mean but I think it could be related to my problem. I was wondering if anyone has a listing or the ability to interpret those codes, so I can be more informed when I take the car in to the dealer. Here is how I got to the codes, entered the Service Menu, selected Failure Diagnostics, then System Check. In System Check Mode I had a USB BOX fault indicated I selected that then on The Unit Check Mode Screen it displayed the two USB BOX fault codes above in the In Memory (stored code) section. There were no current codes listed.
Find attached the DTC codes for the 2010 Prius. I did not find the two codes that you reference. Maybe one of the Prius techs will explain these for you.
Do you have a laptop with Windows XP on it? If so, I could loan you one of my techstream cables and you can get a copy of TechStream ($55/two days or install a version in "evaluation mode" and use once) and see what it says. It usually gives a little more detail, and you could possibly clear the codes and see if that makes any difference. Shoot me an email if you're interested.
JD thanks I did not see those codes listed either when I read your post earlier this morning but then on my way to work I realized why they are not listed. If I remember correctly the factory USB interface came on some of the late production MY 2010 cars, it was accross the board on all MY 2011 Priuses. So I would have to find a DTC code list for MY 2011. Ah ha I am very interested I will email you later. I do not have a PC runing Windows, what I do have is Windows 7 installed on my Mac would that work?
You are correct on the USB being added to later production MY 2010. If you find the USB DTC's, post if for the rest of us with 2010's and USB's.
The one cable only has drivers for Win XP. I could send out the other one with a driver file and you could give it a shot on your mac with Win 7. I have 2 cables, in case that sounded confusing: 1 TIS compatible (the XP one) and 1 Mangoose (Chinese version of Mongoose).
