My Bride has been jealous of my Prius mileage. We went so far as to place a small deposit on a 2011. Despite my urging, I drove it and she did not. NOW she tells me she is disturbed by the poor visibility to the rear in my 2008. To me the 2011 seemed the same. Does the higher roofline / wider stance in your Prius v seem to relieve the problem at all? We'll have to go back next weekend to try one . . .
The v has a very conventional wagon tailgate. As such, I find visibility to be excellent - I think the v (and the c from what I have seen so far) seem to have better rear visibility.
Rear visibility is excellent in the v. I could not get used at all to the split rear window in the non-v's. That and the waterfall console are the reasons why we did not purchase the non-v a year or so ago.
Only when I pack the enormous trunk with too much crap that I can't see clearly out the rear window in our Prius v Seriously though, it is very good visibility overall, but one little niggle I have is that the head rests in the back are a little tall, which is great for passengers, but it does take a little bit away from the visibility.
Thank you both for your responses -- we'll go drive a v Saturday and see how she likes it. Perhaps we can even get a year end deal, as there seem to be a few sitting unwanted on the lot.
