Newbie-audio questions

    Hey everyone! New to the forum, and been lurking and researching for a week or so. I just picked up a 2010 Prius and I'm not sure what model (1 or 2) I have OR what audio system I have. I'm pretty sure it's a base model without JBL amps, but I don't know. How do I figure all this out? Lol

    Ok thanks. I ran a Carfax report and it didn't tell me, so I was puzzled then lol. Googling......

    Look under the passenger seat. If there is an amplifier there, then you probably have the Premium JBL 8 speaker system. If there is nothing there, then you have the stock system with 6 speakers.

    Can be a little hard to see the amp under the passengers seat. Look on rear doors. If no round tweeters up high, you have a Two.

    No amp under the seat, no tweeters in the rear doors, so I have a II then? Main reason I was curious is because I'm about to install my aftermarket double-din hu and wanted to make sure I have everything before I start. Thanks for the help.

    Sounds like a II with no JBL system. You should be good to go.

    what head unit are you going with?
    i am in the process of doing just that...would like to get your take on how you chose what HU to get.
