Hello everybody, I'm new on the Prius Chat forum. I come from the Netherlands and i have an question about wheelspacers. What is the best size of wheelspacer to put on the stock 17" wheels? I like the look that the wheels are equal to the fenders. Does anybody have spacers on their Prius and what size do you have (front and rear) If possible also an picture. thanks already!
Around this area no one will remount rims on your car if you use spacers. I used them on a Chrysler minivan to let Ford Mustang Bullet rims clear the brakes, but I also had to buy studs that were 1/4" longer so that I had enough stud sticking out past the spacer to safely mount the rims. If you want a look of the rim sticking out more you won't see much of a difference. Save your money and buy some wider rims with less offset.

Thanx. Yes, it is lowered on Eibach pro-kit springs. For me, eibach was the right choice because it gave the rake & stance that I luv plus it lowered it about an inch to give it a tasteful lowered look while still not too low to be impractical to clear most parking curbs & ride over speed bumps or dips without having to slow down to ridiculous speed & angle. As for comfort, it is a bit firm but feels more stable at speed. I'm not going to lie, the springs combined w/ the low profile tires that are on the 17" aftermarket wheels do make it alot more firm & uncomfortable at times so it is a tradeoff of looks & performance vs. more efficient & cushior ride.
LOL, cold is all relative to us & u know what they say that "we adapt to our surroundings", I must have grown a thin skin living here because there were spells this winter I considered cold. But really, I wanted to experiment whether I could get better gas mileage since I parked outside & did short commutes in the morning, I've since taken it off but I might put it back on next winter.
^ I was just messing with ya. We did have some "cold" spells this winter. I was actually curious if someone local would have tried grill blocking. Did it seem to help the ICE warm up process? Back to topic, I'm running 20mm spacers in the rear - Ichibas. My rims have a ridiculously high offset. I think they were meant for a WRX.
Oh wow! 20mm, nice. What's your offset & what rims u have? & yes, I have nothing to substantiate it but I think grill blocking did help a bit.
Did you have to replace your studs with longer ones or did you use 20mm adapters instead of just spacers?
They are 16x6.5 (or is it 6? I can't remember..) Motegi Traklites with a +55 offset... so now it's effectively a +35. One of the lighter rims on the market. But I drive too aggressively, so I don't really see an improvement in MPGs. My long-term average over the 2.5 years I've had the car is 45.2 MPGs calculated. You are running a 5mm in the rear? Did you have to get extended studs? I tried putting 5mms for the front rims, but there wasn't enough thread to secure the rim with the lugs... I used the adapters but had to cut the existing studs for a flush fitment. The Traklites do not have the back "pockets" like some other rims to allow the excess studs to fit.
