hey all-- I'm in the middle of trying to get quotes from dealers, and out of the 5 I'm scoping... no one is budging from their quote of about $19,999-$20,000. has anyone had luck on bringing the quote below MSRP? ps) do all dealers charge the region fee? thanx!
the vehicle is priced pretty cheap as it is.. and because of that.. as well as the high demand for the vehicles... it is very unlikely any dealership will budge from its sticker price.
they are moving but small amounts, but only ifthey have many to choose from. dealers like mine [auburn ca] dont budge because they sell the same day they get off the truck, I cant keep them in stock
I was shocked that the dealer let mine go for $20,400 for a two model with a sticker price of 20,900 . They threw in three years of maintenance also. They also did a full point below my credit union on financing. I drove off the lot that night after saying I wouldn't. Didn't even have to haggle, just told them I wanted to sleep on the number they gave me. That's when they started lopping numbers off and throwing things in. You just have to go to a LOT of dealers. I just happened to find the dealership that sells the most Prius in my area and they were ready to deal that night... Basically, I just got lucky... Truecar shows the model I chose averaging for 21,180 out the door. I wanted mine now because I needed a car, or I would have waited. Word on the net is that Toyota is ramping up production and will be sending more cars to North America.
Truecar.com showed $23400 for a Prius C3 with a sunroof. I just got it for $22700 I think it was fair. I think if you can get below truecar your doing OK.
Check this thread out. Many have gotten great prices and financing including myself! I got 200 over invoice on a C3 base package with 1.99 financing for 60 months on a 742 FICO. http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-c-main-forum/104898-possible-get-prius-c-under-msrp.html
Some people have reported minor to moderate discounts going through costco, while some say you can't get a discount off the C via costco. Worth a shot.
The value in Truecar.com seems a bit higher that I don't think it's true. At least I know couple were sold under MSRP about $200-1000. :glare:
out of curiosity, why by a c then at full price? Might as well get the normal prius, which you can get at least $1500 off msrp with minimal negotiation...
