Hoping that this might become a sticky; and a place we can share our ups and downs in our reason that we bought our Prii for.... As I mentioned in another thread, we can post our last fill up (most likely our best). In the next week or so, I will have some small fill ups. This week I have been lucky to have had only my standard commutes going so far. None of the short trips and gas guzzling keeping up with the Joneses. That fill up should be tomorrow night before my first real road trip. Next up will be a highway trip to Lebaon Pa. Going to do the Fuelly thing in two parts. One will be just the highway trip up there. The next will be a combination of the hills and highway trip back home. Later next week I will be doing a trip to the DE shore. I plan on only recording the whole trip. If all works the way I hope, you will see posts in this thread like my last fill up that is reported by this link.... The Grey Ghost (Toyota Prius) | Fuelly
So are you just looking for the last fill up? Or more details like driving conditions, weather, etc.? My last fill up I got 54.5 mpg 50/50 city/hwy driving. Flat, sunny socal, aggressive accelaration to catch up with hwy traffic, and light foot while cruising. Avg trips of about 10 miles.
Just got back from a Vegas Spring Break trip w/ the family of about 600 miles roundtrip. My mpg of 49 calculated was not that good but considering I was averaging 70 mph & climbing many steady inclines(as those who have commuted from L.A. to Vegas know), I can't complain. The big complaint I do have is that I noticed a huge door ding on the passenger side door. Wth, it's as if someone just slammed their door open into mine. I wish I saw it when it happened, so many stupid, drunk people in Vegas. Sorry, just venting as I'm so pissed about this.
Pissed you should be. Not looking forward to being forced to park in an area with thoughtless idiots. Had a great tankful on a trip to Pa over the weekend. (The Grey Ghost (Toyota Prius) | Fuelly). Looking forward to this weekend for a road trip to the DE shore. Not expecting much on the mpg front - will be the first long trip with the Thule Raceway Platform with two bikes. If they have pure gas out that way I may fill up for the heck of it.....
Yeah, I do my part by trying to always find a good spot to park such as wide spaces, on the ends, away from trucks or anything big, & especially away from old beatup cars but as u probably know parking in shopping malls or casino lots no matter how fancy it may be is always a gamble. I also filled up at Vegas because it was .15-.20 cheaper than Calif. Have fun on your trip btw, our prius is a great reason to take on a trip.
