I think i got duped by the dealership

    I bought my car and they said that they preinstall the alarm system on all their prius. but they were trying to add 15 dollars a month to my payment which would mean 700 for an alarm and im not dumb! So they said they would deactivate the VIP alarm system? Is there a way to reactivate the Alarm system without me paying :confused:

    i doubt it. isn't the $15. for monthly service to call center like lojac?

    I think they meant to add the alarm (or activate it), it would increase his monthly payment by $15?

    Either way, that crap they install is junk. There are threads about it here. But I recall someone saying if the VIP security system is active, you lose some of the SKS features?

    Let me guess, Garden Grove? Toyota Place?

    The best thing is to go talk to them and have them explain the charges to you. Speak with their customer relations person.

    What do you need with an additional alarm? the car can't start without the key fob and there is an alarm already in place.

    What level Prius are you buying.
    $15 a month is for a subscription to safety connect. It is like onstar for GM's. If your car has safety connect, and you want to use it, it is going to cost you for the monthly subscription.
