I just installed a new stereo sytem in my 2010. I removed center console and all door panels. I disconnected the electrical pass-thru connectors on the b-pillars to run the wiring. Everything went great......so I thought. After completely reassembling everything and playing with my new radio for a couple of days I took the kids to soccer. On the way they told me the windows did not work. I checked the lock and then tried my control panel with no luck. I pulled the door panels agian to double check the connectors. I checked the b-pillar connectors and everywhere else I had been. I checked all fuses.

I know these windows are controlled by a multi-plexing system. By disconnecting the wiring could I have somehow caused them to stop working and they need to be initialized somehow? I had the front doors apart and I ran the speaker wire through the rubber harness pass thru but did not have to disconnect. The rears are the only ones that were disconnected. Hopefully the dealer is not my only option.

    Anybody have any insight?

    Thanks

You haven't, by any chance, locked them with the button on the driver's door?

Maybe your right about needing to be reset. Have you checked the fuses just in case. I would disconnect the 12v battery, that might reset them.

The lock button is the first thing I tried. I also disconnected the 12v battery and reconnected........no luck. Pulled all panels again (3rd time) to check for missed connectors. Checked all fuses with a DVOM and all are ok.

I want to make sure and exhaust all options before taking it to the dealer. I wouldnt want them to run across something stupid that I caused and then charge me the $500 "learning fee!"

There is a way to touch a ground to the correct wire and make the window go up without hitting the door button. I have done it but don't remember which wire I did. One makes it go up and one makes it go down with a ground wire. That would indicate the motor is good. If you wait I am adding sound deadening to the rear doors and will check this week end.

I have plenty of time. The fronts still work fine. It has to be something that I did during the stereo install. Both windows worked fine before and now both dont work. I doubt its any kind of motor failure. I have a Snap-On Modis scanner at work but I'm betting it will not give me access to the Body Functions (Most Mfgs keep those proprietary so you have to use their techs and their scanners).
