I'd like to educate myself about the engineering/technology of my new PiP, particularly the synergy drivetrain, how the new plug-in technology integrates into that, etc. A Google search obviously yields quite a number of docs, resources, etc, but before I dived in I wanted to check with the experts and see if there were any that were particularly good/recommended for a beginner to start with :)

    Thanks for your time-

Eventually, there will be User-Guide updates featuring the PHV model. The research and data collection takes awhile though. Identifying patterns and finding out what people want to know more about does too. Then I have to take photos to provide examples... ahh! Heck, just using up a tank of gas takes forever. 700 miles on this one and there's still 3 pips on the gauge. 108 MPG average. Gotta like that!

WOW...what a great piece of work! Frankly one of the reasons that sold me on going with the Prius PHV rather than Leaf or Volt was the well-established community and "brain trust" of Prius owners/enthusiasts like John and his great work here...that kind of information and camaraderie is priceless...

That's what convinced me in 2010 and I never regretted a minute of it. I hope you get a chance to get to a MeetUp and meet some PriusChatters. I've met a lot of like-minded people who are car enthusiasts who believe we can solve a lot of problems through high tech conservation.

I really respect guys like John who took the plunge back in 2000 and put their trust in Toyota's new technology. Without them and their financial risk, Prius would not have succeeded and the hybrid tech that makes both gas and electric cars so much more efficient would never have been.
