OK, so I finally got my jug of 3M Prep Solution 70 yesterday so I decided to stick-on all my goodies today (BSMs, LRMs, shark fin antenna, and a bumper protector). It took a couple of hours, but overall, I think the process was pretty straight forward, and I'm certainly very pleased on how everything turned out. Still waiting on my Euro mudflaps, and I think I'm gonna change the tail lights, then I'm done. Maybe some new "shoes" sometime down the line, but we'll see.
Why did you only put one one of the carpool stickers? What do you use to shine your tires? They look great.
There's a small carpool sticker way up on the upper left hand side (when you're facing the car) of the windshield. I'm only going with 2 stickers. So far, so good. I do not know what's on the tires. I just got the car washed, so whatever they use.
I think you have to put all the stickers on the car by law. It's so the CHP and other law enforcement agencies can see, from any angle, that you're allowed to be where you are driving. Also, why put one on the window? There's such a blind spot back there anyway, I would be concerned about making it worse, no?
having dropped the cable on the bumper a few times I better get me that bumper protector asap! Did you tint the rear small window? Had all the rest done myself but they suggested I dont do this one...but there is a difference when you look in the rear view - not so from outside.
looks great! funny coincidence, I saw you on the 91 frwy on my way to vegas on Thursday ... i wasn't in my plug in, so you wouldn't have seen me ... still afraid to take in to vegas without the spare ... again, looks great!
Well technically yes you have to put on all the stickers, but I absolutely hate the ideas of putting those stickers on my nice Blizzard Pearl paint, so I opted to risk putting them on the glass. I figured as long as the CHP knows I'm legit, they hopefully won't give me any grief. *knocks on wood* So far, so good. Had a CHP behind me in the carpool lane today. No issue. Sure, if the CHP officer wanted to be a dick, they could cite me, but then again, they could site me for a lot of things. You can't even see the sticker through the rear view mirror, so there's no blind spot issue at all. Actually, only a small portion of the sticker is even visible when you're actually trying to look for it. All 11 windows on my PiP are tinted. What was the reasoning behind them suggesting against tinting it? I heard someone on PC say that their tint guy said they couldn't tint the window because it was plastic (which isn't true, it's definitely glass). I just had my tint guy (Leo from TW Tinting in Santa Ana) match it up to the 20 on the big hatch window (I think he ended up putting a 30 on the small hatch window, but it's so dark it may not have made a difference). LOL How did you know it was me? My New York Giants sticker, or my unusual carpool sticker placement? Yeah, that bumper is just so easy to scratch. And since I didn't like how the applique looked, I went with the full on bumper protector. It's really thick and looks like it'll take some punishment. Plus I think it looks good with the BP paint.
Looks great. I put on the same bumper protector last night and am certain it will do a much better job than the rear applique. I have the applique on my 2004 and have still managed to scratch the bumper thru the film. I don't see that happening with this heavy duty protector. Thanks for posting pics of the body side moldings with the lower door moldings. I am still undecided if I will add both because of concerns it will look too busy.
Thanks. Yeah, I guess it's all a matter of preference. I put them on for both added protection against door dings, and for aesthetics. I think it adds another nice line to the car and breaks up the side a bit. But my friend thinks it's a little too busy. My original plan was to go very plain - blacked out windows, blacked out rims, etc., but the PiP already has those silver accents on the door handles and the hatch, so I kinda just went with it. If I were you I'd do the LRMs for sure though. They would look good with your rims.
I did both the BSM and LRM on my Sea Glass Pearl and I like the look of both. I think it looks unique and a little more sporty with both. Just my opinion.
i was behind you for a long time ... not too many prius with a ny giants sticker ... thought to myself that you duplicated that green sticker while you were waiting for yours to come in the mail ... hope you don't get pulled over for nothing funny, that the 3rd pip prius i have seen has been a guy i conversed with on this board ...
they said because it was a brown factory glass vs green its already tinted. true, but not enough. Im going to have it done.
Hey...I had all that stuff first. Of course, a better team logo . Only thing I don't have are the cool wheels and I have to get the black bumper protector. The black shark fin is in the trunk to be put on. Well done.
Did my side skirt install last night, very easy job. I used a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alchohol and water to prep, removing the zaino I had on the car quickly.
I got it from the PriusChat Accessory shop. I think it was around $40. There's no logo on it. At least my logo has 4 Superbowl championships associated with it. Yeah, as far as I can tell it can only be purchased by the gallon (some places sell it by the case, 4 1-gallon bottles). That said, I bought a whole gallon. I think a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol should do the trick. A lot of people have been using that as a substitute. Too bad you didn't live in my area, I could give you some of mine since I have plenty.
Does anyone know of a supplier or someone that can make a Rear Bumper Rubber Protector that has the "Prius Plug-In Hybrid" logo? For $40 the device should have the logo.
Two beat downs? Which games are you referring to? I'm sure the Eagles have beat down the Giants plenty more than just twice (and vice versa). If you're talking about last season, we split the series 1-1. Still, I'll take my four Lombardis over a few beat downs any day.
