I looked for this elsewhere in another PriusChat posting but didn't see it so please redirect me if I missed it -

I am assuming that nothing happens (other than a message) if you depress the brake pedal, push the Start button and have the key dongle in the vehicle with the recharging cable attached to the vehicle that. Is this correct?

    Thanks -

If it is plugged in (in the rear of the car) the car will power on but not goto ready allowing you to drive. A message will also appear on the mid.

If it is unplugged, but the rear door is open for the charge port, you can drive the car but a message will appear on the mid letting you know it is open.
