We just moved to a new state and had to replace our plates for the first time in 5years. One screw was really stuck on there, finally got it removed with brute force...but this pulling and pushing cause the nut which you screw the bold into to drop inside the rear hatch. I now can't get a new bolt in to hold the new plate. Dealer wants me to make an appointment and they expect it to cost some money and said "it won't be easy." Surely this must be easy. Any help out there? How can I get a new plate on without costing money? Thanks,
Find a plastic insert (like a wall anchor) which is a force fit in the hole, then use a self-tapping screw?
