My wedding ring fell down the shifter control, is there a way to retrieve it? Will it being in there cause damage to anything?
Yes, you! (when your spouse finds out...) Removing the shifter is not that difficult. Do a search here for articles about replacing it, I recall at least one with pictures of the disassembly process. Once you have the unit out, you might be able to shake the ring out.
