With the car OFF, there's a blinking light in the lower row of the instrument cluster, right to the left of the ABS indicator. Can't find any reference to it in the book. It blinks just fast enough that I can't really decipher it, but if I stare at it long enough, I see a padlock and maybe a car outline. Does anyone have any idea what this might be, and is there a complete mapping of all lights in the cluster anywhere?
It is the light that indicates that the car's immobilizer is active. It is mostly acts as a theft deterrent for a would be thief.
Yes, as well as the 2005 Gen II, but the forum profile only allows one, and I'm too lazy to build an elaborate signature.
Since you have a Gen II as well, you must be familiar with the light in the shape of a car with a key that blinks when the car is off.. The padlock light on your Prius v serves the same purpose.
