'Hitler' clothing store stirs anger in India - Yahoo! News "I will change it (the name) if people want to compensate me for the money we have spent -- the logo, the hoarding, the business cards, the brand," Rajesh Shah told AFP." ........ All I can say is he was clueless enough to pick that name, but then to expect people are going to pay him to correct his boneheaded mistake? The nerve! Still find it hard to understand he would not know better, so I wonder if he has issues worse than utter stupidity to admire this tyrant.
hoarding? Do they mean the building sign? There is some sub culture going there. The swastika used isn't an Indian one.
I don't think he is an actual Hitler fan; I think it's more like "Controversy = free publicity". Hopefully that doesn't work with this doofus.
There are a lot of bigots in India... hell... their society is caste based still over much of the country... I don't think the store owner was clueless... calculating maybe, certainly with someone helping him put the stuff in just such a way as to ensure those that DO know history, understand what he wanted to say. The store owner saying he didn't know is disingenuous... fallacious, and without any credibility because of the placement of the swastika with the name.
Holy news resurrection Batman! How old is that story? I can't remember how many years it is since I first heard it...
Ummmm... perhaps you're thinking of another place back in the day Bra... Cause this story is now 10 days old. 'Hitler' clothing store stirs anger in India - Yahoo! News

I remember it from about 10 or 15 years ago. But I don't think that this is Chuck's fault - it'll be a lazy AFP reporter re-reporting an urban myth, I suspect. Unless,of course, it's happened again.
I guess it's something which is bound to crop up periodically, when there aren't the overwhelmingly negative associations we have with the name in the west... I can't imagine anyone getting into political office, like this guy, without a name change, for example: Adolf Lu Hitler Marak - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
'Hitler' clothing store in India sparks row - World News I had an Indian boss once, and he was dictatorial in ways that often impeded getting things done. He was also obsessed with being "tough", so I wonder if that culture is a bit OCD on that. So if they have some taking things to it's most absurd, they arrived at admiring history's ultimate monster.
